Two Months Gone Already? What Have We Been Doing?!

WOW!  If we don’t pay attention, the days slip right on by—right?!  Yes, we did take a little time off to catch our breath and savor the holidays and spend time with special friends and adopted family, but then I took a good hard look at our studio and formulated a plan to tidy it up.  Tidy up is probably not the appropriate terminology.  Rather, this clean-up crew of one took it upon herself to fully clean up, out, and reorganize (with a little disposal for good measure).

I mean I could hardly see the floor for all the pails of ingredients and boxes of packaging items—YIKES!  So, for you folks who like cleaning journeys with a happy ending, I would like to take you on mine, but FIRST and FOREMOST . . .

We’re thrilled to share that Morning Mist Soap has been featured in Wellness Magazine! The article highlights our passion for creating luxurious, patisserie-styled soap that blend artistry with self-care. It’s an honor to be recognized for our dedication to handcrafted, skin-loving products. Read the full article here.

Now, onto our story of clean! 🪣 🧽 First of all, the many buckets, gallon jugs, and tins of oils needed to be restocked elsewhere, and that’s where our cellar came in handy.  Now, they set on shelves that had served no purpose for some time.  Jars and their tops were placed in labeled bins and also rehoused downstairs.  The big job was spending a couple of weeks sewing storage bags for all the glassware displays used during festivals.  Until now, glassware was transported in grocery bags, but at the end of the show season there are cake and cookie plates everywhere!  Leftover velveteen fabric from previous displays provided plenty of material to make approximately 20 storage bags, which also went into labeled bins and placed in the cellar.  Now, the shelves under the studio workbench has plenty of room to put mixing bowls, a soap cake cutter, and smaller pails of ingredients.  After clearing out unnecessary items, a cubby unit had room for smaller soap cutters, shrink wrap tools, and ingredients for specific products.  Again, all labeled for easy access, which eliminates frantic searching.  Finally, the long-neglected granite-topped rolling cart purchased at Chase Pitkin (remember that great store?) serves as a second work station for pouring, piping, and decorating cakes, cupcakes, and smaller soap items.  Of course, once work on product resumed, surfaces have become cluttered, but that can easily be remedied in a few moments—not weeks like this project took.  That’s my cleaning journey.  Walking into my clean and tidy workspace, brings a smile and eagerness to get to work each day!

I have more to share, but that will have to wait until next week!  Until then, keep smiling, spring is nearly here and do everything in love!

Blessings,

Lorraine💝
