My husband and I had been packing for weeks right up to the day the movers were finishing up the loading of the truck! Let me explain.
I had been doing art festivals until the last weekend of July, but I assured my husband, I could have the small house items packed up within 16 days—16 rooms, 16 days, right? Wrong!! Hubby was in charge of packing up his man cave, barn items, and his gazillion books, and I had the rest of the house, plus still had to make soap cupcakes, etc. for festivals. Obviously, I am a horrible judge of time and seem to have A.D.D. as I am constantly distracted. Â
While packing several boxes nearly every day, it took three or four days to pack up my soap studio and the same to pack up the pantry and kitchen (with the MAJOR help the best husband ever)!
Now, while I am festivaling, he is packing, moving a U-Haul and flatbed with all my soap making ingredients (i.e., sodium hydroxide, oils and butters), our small tractor, governess cart, and all his man cave stuff. He also flew our small plane to the new hangar, airlined it back, and finally his last trip with our dog, was a VERY loaded pickup, towing a flatbed with a motorcycle, manure spreader, HUGE workbench (for his new man cave), and how wonderful is he to be convinced to take our locked-up wheeled sickle bar mower, which I wanted for a lawn ornament, PLUS nine bales of hay for our mare, and loads of odds and ends!
I will have our five cats, three 40-pounds of horse feed, and a bunch of other stuff. I am sure my trip will be an adventure in terror (hopefully, only for the cats)!
God bless you all!
