My husband and I have been going through quite the whirlwind experience over the last three months, and it is time to let the proverbial cat out of the bag. We are moving.
In three months time, we have looked at homes in other sections of the country, chose and purchased one very much to our liking, auctioned off our farm, and have been steadily packing, tossing, and moving some of our belongings to our new home.
The removers will pack up our furnishings and all the MANY boxes we have packed, a professional equine transporter will carry my beloved mare, and my husband and I will take our dog and five cats all to our new home in the Midwest to start a new chapter.
I will definitely NOT be retiring from making soap! I enjoy making it, using it, and sharing our beautiful works of soapy art with the public and explaining to them that they can, with a little imagination, indeed use our soap to wash with!
I do appreciate all the warm wishes from those I have told personally, and I hope you who are reading this will continue using and purchasing our soap, albeit through our website.
The only sad note is that I will not be able to fulfill any online orders for the entire month of August. This month I will move my operation, and unpack in my new studio, which happily, is nearly ten times the size of my current working digs, AND happily for my husband, it is NOT in the house! He and I will share a very large workshop, where each of us will occupy half—I for soap production and he for his many projects. It’s definitely a win-win situation!
Although it is a bit sad to leave our 1859 farmhouse, which has FINALLY been completely renovated, I am sure the folks who have purchased it will love it, too. At least I hope they will. Our new home is truly new and nearly 150 years younger than our old farm and house, and its open floor plan has some decorating challenges, but I look forward to making it my own. My husband and I feel God has led us to this new place, and we are eager to follow His plans for us.
In the meantime, please be patient, and I will be sure to provide weekly updates on our new adventure!
