French Yellow Facial Clay Mask
French Yellow Clay is made up of fine mineral particles and iron oxides which determine its color. It contains iron, but no aluminum. It is a very mild clay that can be used on dry or sensitive skin.
French Yellow Clay is considered to be a powerful detoxifier which draws out impurities from the body while the essential minerals within the clay are released. It stimulates the circulation of blood and lymph, removes dead skin cells, and tones & strengthens connective tissues to leave skin smooth, fresh & radiant.
You can add water with honey, lemon juice, oatmeal, ground almonds, or yogurt to make a paste. A few drops of Essential Oils can be added but please read up on them and do not go out in the sun with the mask on.
Caution: Caution should be exercised as clays may stain fabric.
- Mix the clay with one or two of the above ingredients of your choice to form a paste.
- Then wash face thoroughly, Exfoliate if necessary with one of my exfoliating bars. It removes the dead skin cells and helps your masks absorb better. Before you put the mask on cover your face with a hot wash cloth until it is no longer hot. This is to open up your pores.
- Take a brush (even a soft artist paint brush-$1 Store) and apply it all over your face but your lips, eyes and eyebrows.
- Wash the mask off with a warm wash cloth when it starts to harden.
- End with a toner.
I use cold chamomile tea in a spray bottle from the refrigerator. Feels great....
