Kaolin Facial Clay Mask
The Use of Kaolin Clay originated from the Romans, Greeks, Egyptians and the Chinese. It clears the skin of oils and dirt without drying the skin. White Kaolin Clay, also referred to as China White Clay, is a very mild clay that improves blood circulation, gently exfoliates and cleanses the skin. White Kaolin clay helps remove impurities without removing the skins natural oils, making it a great choice for dry or sensitive skin types. It is used extensively in Mineral Makeup, face and body masks, body powders, natural soaps and poultices.
You can add water with honey, lemon juice, oatmeal, ground almonds, or yogurt to make a paste. A few drops of Essential Oils can be added but please read up on them and do not go out in the sun with the mask on.
- Mix the clay with one or two of the above ingredients of your choice to form a paste.
- Then wash face thoroughly, Exfoliate if necessary with one of my exfoliating bars. It removes the dead skin cells and helps your masks absorb better. Before you put the mask on cover your face with a hot wash cloth until it is no longer hot. This is to open up your pores.
- Take a brush (even a soft artist paint brush-$1 Store) and apply it all over your face but your lips, eyes and eyebrows.
- Wash the mask off with a warm wash cloth when it starts to harden.
- End with a toner.
